harsh autobox x300

Hi guys,

I have an X300 daimler with the sports autobox - The gearbox is quite smooth going up the box but very harsh going back down it. Going from 2 to 1 is usually accompanied by a single thud as the gear engadges.

ANy ideas what this could be?

Have you checked the gearbox oil level?

Sorry to say but it is game over
You can try a filter and new oil but I think it is dead look for a recon or known good box but I would just get a recon if you’re going to keep it

Just so I don’t look like a nob check the prop it should only have no more than ¼ in play in it
They don’t drop in to first they use second and only drop in to first when under hard acceleration or sports mode
Is it a late car? If so they have problems with ecu programming
I was going to offer you £50 for her
